Sometimes there are unexpected dinner guests in the middle of a hectic week. And although you want to impress them a bit, you don’t always have the time to be in the kitchen for a few hours.
And even if you would have the time, why should you? There’s no need, because this salmon dish is wonderful to serve, too easy for words and requires only salmon and a few ingredients from your pantry.
This meal is – literally – only minutes work, but nobody will believe that. The flavour of the salmon topping is so delicious and has both spicy and sweet elements. My guests have never guessed the right ingredients (and there are only two you’ll need!).
The secret is that the sugar in the topping will caramelize when you cook the fish. Combined with the spicy mustard, it’s a perfect match.
The only thing to remember is to prepare the salmon the last minute, just before you cook it. This dish will definitely become a favourite, whether you prepare it for that dinner party or for a quick weeknight meal. Because it’s good for every occasion.

I also love using dijon mustard with salmon or other fish! Great recipe!
Mustard and fish are always a good combo, right?!
Fabulous and so quick, as you say great for a dinner party, guests will think you’ve been in the kitchen for hours LOL and it looks so professional too.
This dish is being mentioned in one of my blog posts this week, please pop over soon to take a look once it’s completed.

There is this two mustard glazed salmon recipe by Nigella Lawson that I love too … making it frome time to time for my family and they always want more !
I know that one: with English mustard powder, right? It’s just a wonderful combination!
I’ve cooked salmon with mustard, but not sugar too – what a great idea.
Thanks Lynda!
